What to know
Dermal filler risks, downtime & aftercare
Expect some swelling, and bruising is common; it can last up to a week, so plan filler at least two weeks before big events. Early lumps or unevenness while filler settles are common and adjustable; hyaluronic acid results can be dissolved if ever needed, while biostimulator results (Radiesse, Sculptra) wear away naturally instead, a difference we walk through before choosing your product. Serious vascular complications are rare, and we take extra steps to keep it that way: our injectors are trained in facial anatomy and low-risk injection technique, with frequent hands-on training, on-site physician oversight and up-to-date emergency protocols. We review your history first.
Cheek filler
Cheeks are usually where facial volume loss starts, and where restoring it pays off most, because lifted cheeks quietly improve the folds and shadows below them. Cheek filler rebuilds that foundation: structure first, and often less filler needed elsewhere as a result.
Jawline, chin & beyond
Filler also builds definition where bone structure wants backup: sharpening a jawline, projecting a recessed chin, smoothing a dorsal hump without surgery, softening marionette lines. RHA (Revance): HA engineered specifically for high-movement areas, which is why it shines in lips and around the mouth. Radiesse (Merz): calcium-based, delivering firm structure plus months of collagen stimulation where jawlines and hands want it. Sculptra (Galderma): a collagen biostimulator that rebuilds volume gradually over a series, for change that looks grown rather than placed.

Will filler look fake?
The result matches the amount and placement: that’s a dial, not a dice roll. We build gradually and you approve the direction at every step; if you want a dramatic change, we can dose for that too. Your goal sets the look.
How long does filler last?
Six to twenty-four months depending on the area and product: filler in high-movement areas (lips) fades faster than structural areas (cheeks, jaw). We’ll give you the realistic range for your plan at consult.
Is filler reversible?
Our hyaluronic acid fillers (the Juvéderm and RHA lines) are: an enzyme called hyaluronidase dissolves them within days. Radiesse and Sculptra work differently, building your own collagen, and aren't dissolvable, which is why we place them conservatively and explain the trade before choosing your product.
Does getting filler hurt?
Less than most people expect: numbing cream first, lidocaine mixed into the filler itself, and blunt cannulas where they reduce discomfort and bruising. Pressure and odd sensations, yes; sharp pain, no.
Filler or Botox: which do I need?
Different jobs: Botox relaxes the muscles making lines move; filler replaces volume that’s gone. Many faces benefit from one, not the other, and the consult sorts out which is which for you at no cost.
