What to know
Lip filler risks, downtime & aftercare
Swelling is expected: lips look bigger than the final result for the first day or two, so plan around events. Bruising is common and short-lived; lumps are usually massageable and integrate fully into your own tissue without intervention most of the time. Because we use hyaluronic acid fillers, dissolving is always available as a backstop. We review your history first, including cold-sore history, since treatment can trigger an outbreak we can pre-treat for.
Dosed to your goal: subtle to statement
There's no house style here. Some patients want hydration and a crisper edge that reads as "great lipstick"; some want visible, unmistakable volume; most land somewhere between. You're in control of where it stops, and since HA filler is adjustable in both directions, no single visit locks you in.

Lip filler vs lip flip
The lip flip is a few units of Botox that roll the upper lip outward: more lip showing with no filler involved, lasting about two months. Lip filler adds real volume and shape, lasting six months to two years depending on the product. Flip for a subtle preview; filler for actual body; both together for maximum effect from a modest amount of product.

Will my lips look overdone?
Only if that’s the look you want. The amount is the dial, and you set it. We build in steps, you approve each one, and HA filler can be adjusted in either direction afterward.
How bad is the swelling?
Real but short: lips typically look noticeably bigger than the final result for 24–48 hours. Book at least two weeks ahead of an event and nobody will know but you.
How long does lip filler last?
Six to twenty-four months depending on the product. Lips move constantly, so filler there fades faster than in structural areas like cheeks.
Can lip filler be dissolved?
Yes. The hyaluronic acid fillers we use dissolve within days with hyaluronidase, whether you want a small adjustment or a complete undo.
Should I get a lip flip instead?
