Who it's for
Is under-eye filler right for you?
Under-eyes are where candidacy matters most, so we're direct about it: filler helps hollows: shadows cast by lost volume. It does not help puffiness, bags or loose skin, and filling over those makes them look worse. Roughly, if your under-eyes look better when you gently press the hollow outward in a mirror, you may be a candidate; if your concern is a bulge, you likely need a different plan, and we'll tell you which at your consult.
- Hollows or a groove between eye and cheek
- Shadows that make you look tired on eight hours of sleep
- Dark circles caused by volume loss (not pigment)
- Concealer that sits in the crease instead of covering it
How under-eye filler works & what to expect
Consult & assess. We determine whether your under-eyes are a hollow, a bag or both, and say so plainly.
Treat. A thin, low-water filler placed deep with a blunt cannula: small amounts, conservative on purpose.
Settle. Improvement is immediate; any bruising fades over 3–5 days, with the refined result at two weeks.
What to know
Under-eye filler risks, downtime & aftercare
The under-eye bruises more easily than most areas, so plan for the possibility of 3–5 visible days. Overfilling or too-shallow placement can cause puffiness or a bluish tint (the Tyndall effect), which is why we use thin fillers, deep placement and deliberately conservative amounts, and why HA filler matters here: it dissolves completely if adjustment is ever needed. We review your history first.
Dark circles, hollows or bags: which do you have?
Three different problems live under the eyes and only one of them is a filler problem. Hollows (lost volume casting a shadow) respond well to filler. Pigment (darkness in the skin itself, there even in bright light) responds to skin treatments, not volume. Bags (fat pushing forward) need a different plan entirely, sometimes surgical. Most people have a mix, which is why the assessment comes before any recommendation.
PRF: often our first choice under the eyes
PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) uses a small draw of your own blood, concentrated and injected to gradually improve under-eye skin quality and volume over a series of sessions. It's subtler and slower than filler, nothing synthetic, and it avoids the under-eye complications filler can bring, like the Tyndall effect and lingering swelling. For many under-eyes it's where we prefer to start, with filler as the step up when volume loss is the dominant problem. We offer both, so the recommendation follows your anatomy, not our menu.
The under-eye rarely acts alone
Hollow under-eyes usually have collaborators: temples that have hollowed, cheeks that have dropped, crow's feet creasing the frame. Supporting the temples and cheeks and softening crow's feet often lifts the whole area more naturally than more filler in the trough ever could, which is why we assess the full frame around the eye, not just the shadow under it.
Pricing
How pricing works for under-eye filler
Under-eye treatment typically uses less filler than any other area: half a syringe to one syringe split across both sides is common. It's priced per syringe with the exact quote set at your complimentary consultation, after the candidacy assessment that decides whether filler is even the right tool.
We also offer several ways to spread treatment costs over time, including buy-now-pay-later plans. Ask about financing at your consultation.
Common questions
Under-eye filler FAQs
Why do you assess candidacy so carefully here?
Because under-eye filler is only as good as the match. On true hollows the change can be remarkable; on bags or loose skin it makes things worse. The assessment is free, and "filler isn’t your answer" is a real outcome we deliver when it’s true.
Does it hurt?
Less than people fear: numbing first, then a blunt cannula through a single entry point rather than repeated needle sticks. Pressure and strangeness, not pain.
How long does under-eye filler last?
Often the longest of any area: nine to eighteen months and sometimes beyond, because the under-eye barely moves.
Can it look puffy or blue?
It can when overfilled or placed too shallow. That’s the Tyndall effect you may have seen photos of. Thin filler, deep placement and conservative dosing prevent it, and if adjustment is ever needed the filler dissolves completely.
What if I'm not a candidate?
Then you’ll leave knowing what would actually help: PRF for skin quality, cheek support for some hollows, skin treatments for pigment, or a surgical referral for true bags. Naming the right tool is the point of the consult.
