PLASMA FILLER AT WELLSPRING
Plasma filler is an advanced, innovative, and all-natural treatment used to rejuvenate skin, restore volume, and stimulate collagen production for a more youthful appearance. At Wellspring, we use a state of the art platform called Ez Gel to prepare and obtain each patient's own natural filler, sometimes called biofiller.
The procedure involves extracting a small amount of the patient's blood, which is then processed in a centrifuge to separate the plasma. This plasma is rich in platelets, which are small cell fragments that play a vital role in healing and tissue regeneration. We continue through a series of heating and cooling with results in a gel like filler.
Once the plasma filler is isolated, it's injected into the areas of the face that need volume and rejuvenation, such as under the eyes, around the mouth, and other areas where fine lines, wrinkles, or volume loss are noticeable.

Plasma filler is an advanced, innovative, and all-natural treatment. We use this injectable filler to rejuvenate skin, restore volume, and stimulate collagen production for a more youthful appearance. At Wellspring, we use a modern machine called Ez Gel plasma filler to prepare and get each patient's own natural filler.
What is plasma filler?
Plasma filler is a type of filler made naturally from your own growth factors and stem cells. The process starts with a blood draw. We then subject it to temperature changes, creating a gel-like substance. This gel is rich with cells and growth factors.
Plasma filler is great for patients that want a natural way to slow down visible aging.
Plasma gel is an alternative to traditional dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a gel-like substance found abundantly throughout the body. These fillers are great at volumizing however do not stimulate collagen production.
How is plasma filler made?
Plasma filler is all natural and we make and obtain the gel during your appointment. The procedure requires taking vials of your blood and spinning them at a specific speed. Spinning the sample separates the plasma and the red blood cells. We then extract the plasma.
This plasma is rich in platelets and fibrin and is commonly referred to as platelet rich plasma (PRP) or platelet rich fibrin (PRF). Within this fluid is growth factors and stem cells. These are small cell fragments that play a vital role in healing and tissue regeneration.
Once we separate your sample, we go through a series of heating and cooling. The result is a gel, volumizing product. We then inject the gel into the areas of the face that need volume and rejuvenation. Common treatment areas include the under the eyes, around the mouth, cheeks and temples.

What is the difference between plasma filler and PRF?
Most people have heard of PRF and PRP, but have not heard of face filler from plasma. PRF is the precursor used to create plasma filler.
PRF is much thinner and watery compared to plasma filler. This is the preferred treatment for small volume loss, fine or thin hair and applying topically. We also combine PRF with procedures like laser resurfacing, microneedling and chemical peels to aid in wound healing and boost results.
What is the difference between plasma filler and traditional fillers?
Traditional filler and plasma fillers are similar. They both are volumizing areas that have wrinkles and fine lines. You can use them interchangeably for most things but they do have some distinct differences.
Hyaluronic acid, a gel-like substance, makes traditional fillers. This substance is a natural part of your body and provides hydration and cushion to our skin and joints.
There are many types and brands of filler, each with their own unique properties and injection locations. When choosing a product, your injector has many options. Your injector can select a specific gel for a particular area and result. However, the main benefits of hyaluronic acid end at volumizing and hydrating.
In contrast, plasma filler is an all natural filler. In addition to its filling effects, it naturally stimulates your own collagen in elastin. This then encourages your body to behave like it once did and create plump healthy skin.
We can slightly modify the gel to make it more or less viscous. This allows us to customize the gel for different treatment areas and outcomes. If we need a lot of volumization, plasma filler limits our options more.
What are common side effects?
The side effects are very similar to traditional fillers made from hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxylapatite. These include swelling, bruising and tenderness. While a true allergic reaction would be very rare, some people will have mild irritation or redness at the injection sites.
What is pre and post care?
The pre and post care are the same as our traditional filler injections. Before your appointment, you should avoid the dentist and not have a sinus infection or upper respiratory tract infection. You should avoid medications that increase the risk of bruising like aspirin, fish oil, ibuprofen and blood thinners. You also should eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of water prior to your appointment.
Your aftercare will include icing the treated areas and taking Tylenol for discomfort. Swelling and bruising usually resolves within a week. You should avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours post injections. Apply sun protection with broad spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin from sun damage.
