FILLER BEFORE AND AFTER
What is Filler?
Filler is an FDA approved, minimally invasive, cosmetic procedure. The purpose of filler is to introduce volume under the skin. We use filler to add volume to areas lacking fullness. We add filler with an injection procedure, from 1ml syringes.
Filler is great as it gives immediate results, with minimal recovery time, and very little risk of complication. Typically, filler results will last 1-2 years.
Facial fillers are the most common, as loss of volume in the face is a common side effect of aging. However, filler are also great for adding volume that was never there.
Lip enhancement, jaw broadening, and cheek area injections are very common just because you want it! Fillers are amazing procedure for enhancing what you already have. They also provide a more balanced appearance in the face.
The most common filler is a hyaluronic acid filler (HA). The most common HA filler lines are Juvederm filler, Restylane filler, and RHA filler. Hyaluronic acid is a natural compound that provides moisture and hydration. Because of this, lip filler will give the lips a more hydrated, healthier appearance.
Full, Hydrated, Luscious Lip Filler Near Me
Lip filler is a very common procedure. Typically, lip filler injections consist of one syringe expertly injected in the correct upper and lower lip proportions. There is a science to aesthetics, and one must perform lip injections correctly to avoid the dreaded duck lips.
Furthermore, one needs proper injection technique to maintain the cupids bow. The cupids bow are the peaks near the center of your upper lip. Well defined cupids bow are absolutely beautiful, but we see many lip injections that completely even them out.
First, you will meet with your injector to discuss goals. Many clients are terrified of looking over filled. But trust us, we understand how unattractive overfilled lips are, and we do not want you walking around like that. One syringe of filler can give very subtle, but noticeable, pump and hydration to the lips.
After you and your injector are on the same page, we will apply a numbing compound to the injection site. This will soak in for 30 minutes to an hour. After that the lip procedure will only last 10 minutes or so.
Thankfully, you can easily cover up bruising and swelling is very temporary. Lip filler has a lot of misconception surrounding it. We have a reputation to maintain, so overdone clients are a no go.
In fact, we refuse lip injections to clients from other med spas all the time. Instead, we will dissolve the existing filler, let the lips heal, and reapply filler correctly.
Jaw filler has become a very popular procedure recently. We use jaw filler to provide shape and definition in the lower face. Jaw filler can provide lift to sagging skin in the jowl area. Typically a jaw filler treatment requires 2-8 syringes of filler.
Full Facial Balancing
Facial balancing adds filler in your face to add symmetry and proportion. This can consist of:
Filler in the temples
We consider all treatment areas based on what you are looking for, and what we see together. The application of dermal fillers can go a long way. A facial balancing requires a treatment plan. Filler is generally additive, meaning consistent treatments over time produce better results.
Wrinkle Reduction with Filler
Frequently, we use filler to add volume under and around deep permanent wrinkles. A common area are the frown lines (lines from the corner of your mouth down the sides of your chin). These wrinkles form from sagging skin, so toxins like Botox do not help. Filler (often along side PDO threads) will add volume to lift the sagging skin and pull up the lines and wrinkles.
Are Fillers Safe?
Most people tolerate fillers very well. Hyaluronic acid is natural in the body. The most common side effects are swelling and bruising. Swelling should only last 24 hours.
We will do our best to avoid bruising, and we have simple treatments to help you recover quickly.
Beyond HA Fillers
While facial fillers are the most common use, we offer procedures that go far beyond HA fillers.
Body filler is not hyaluronic acid, but calcium hydroxylapatite. This filler is stimulatory, meaning it causes growth and healing in the injected areas.
Plasma filler is for the all natural crowd. We actually manufacture this filler from the plasma in your own blood!
How to Save Money on Filler
We discourage clients who filler shop. Filler injections are medical procedures that require skill, tweaks, and time to get perfect results. So we want clients who will stick with us long term to optimize your filler results. That said, there are ways to save on filler with vendor rewards programs.

Follow up after two weeks.
Wait 2-4 weeks for your best results as your injections settle and swelling goes down.
Use cold packs to reduce swelling/redness for 20 minutes on/off for the first 24 hours.
Avoid alcohol and aggressive exercise for 24-48 hours post injection.
Do not massage your injections unless instructed to do so.
Avoid NSAIDs like Motrin or Ibuprofen for pain. Instead take Tylenol.
How many units will I need? Each patient has unique anatomy and goals so the dosage is impossible to guess without a thorough consultation by one of our experienced injectors. We will analyze your facial expressions from the beginning of encounter (often without you realizing) and take asymmetries into consideration along with the strength and direction of muscles fibers. Traditionally, for Botox and Xeomin, the companies set out guidelines on what doses should be given. For crows feet, they recommend ~10-16 units per side, for a total of 20-32 units. The area between your eyebrows requires 20 units and the forehead requires 20 units. Dysport is a little bit different in terms of dosing, but no need to worry about that. At Wellspring Skincare, we believe less is more. Clinically, we have amazing results by under treating patients and bringing them back in 2 weeks, where we can always add additional units if more are required. We want you to have natural looking, long lasting results.
Will the injections hurt?Generally speaking, no. Each patient has a unique experience and reaction to pain but overall, your procedure will be quite painless. At Wellspring Skincare, we injection Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport using a small needle (similar to an insulin syringe) to minimize discomfort. The actual procedure often takes less than five minutes, making any discomfort short-lived and over quickly. If you have had a negative experience with toxin injections in the past or do not tolerate small amounts of pain well, please inform us and we can take extra steps with topical anesthetic for additional comfort. And for no additional charge, Dr. Corey and Susan will keep you distracted the entire time with funny jokes and countless good times.
Will I look fake or overdone?Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are dose and injector dependent. After a thorough evaluation of your anatomy and after discussing your treatment goals, our experienced providers will make a recommendation on dosage and locations. At Wellspring Skincare, we strive for natural, youthful looking results and discourage overuse of any treatment.
How do neurotoxins like Botox, Dysport or Xeomin work?Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin all work by binding to nerve terminals, inhibiting musculature contractions, reducing the wrinkles and fine lines associated with facial expressions. Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin all are made from botulinum toxin but they differ in their side chains, allowing them to be branded differently.
Can you tell me more about the history of botulinum toxin? It's funny you should ask, because the history of botulinum toxin is fascinating. The toxin is produced by a bacteria that was first discovered after food poisoning outbreaks in 1793, but the actual toxin wasn't discovered until much later. In the 1920's, the first scientists began to try to isolate the toxin however they weren't successful for another twenty years. In the 1970's, scientists first used botulinum toxin therapeutically to treat misalignment of the eyes, and they noticed that the wrinkles around the area were gone post-injection. Allergan was the first company to license the toxin, branding it Botox, cosmetically gaining FDA approval in 2002. Dysport was cosmetically approved in 2009, followed by Xeomin in 2011. Most recently, a new toxin named Daxxify was FDA approved with a longer duration of action!
